Ulrikke Rindal is Associate Professor of English didactics at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research at the University of Oslo. Her research interests relate mainly to sociolinguistic aspects of learning and teaching English, focusing specifically on oral communication. Her current research is concerned with attitudes towards non-native spoken English, and quality English teaching using video-observation data.
Lisbeth M. Brevik is Professor of English didactics at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research at the University of Oslo, and is a former English teacher in secondary school. Her research interests relate to the reading, learning and teaching of English in secondary school and teacher education, and the use of English outside of school for online gaming and in social media, in addition to classroom research, video research and mixed methods. Her current research is concerned with quality English teaching using video-observation data, and students' use of English for online gaming and social media outside of school.
Brevik has several roles in research projects. She is the leader of the video project Linking Instruction and Student Experiences (LISE), the gaming project Vocational and General students' Use of English (VOGUE ) and the language project Evaluation of bilingual Training Opportunities in Schools (ETOS). In 2019 she received the Prize for excellent research dissemination, in 2020 she received the Education Prize and was selected as one of seven recognized lecturers at the University of Oslo.
